Context
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers - Americorps places volunteers to work with people who are economically disadvantaged by focusing on education opportunities throughout the country. I worked with NDMVA’s team on visual design and UX of the new website.

Research
Feedback from users and stakeholders identified the following painpoints:
    • Outdated look and feel made potential applicants question legitimacy of program
    • Staff had a difficult time updating the website since it was a hardcoded site requiring HTML & CSS knowledge
    • Website was not optimized for a mobile experience
    • Application process was confusing and hard to navigate

User Testing
15 seniors in college who were considering post-graduate options were identified and asked to test the website. Feedback from testers reiterated that the application process was confusing. Protoype was changed to include a linear timeline to clearly explain the application process.

Implemented Solutions
  • Brought user tasks of applying and donating to the home page and above the fold.
  • Developed the website with Wordpress and provided content update training and documentation for staff
